As we have seen in the Business Processes of Quality Management, it is possible, and in fact it will be the most common, to trigger the request for tests automatically after a predefined event. For instance, whenever we receive a specific material from a purchase order, we can set up our master data in a way that automatically an inspection lot will be created initiating the test process.

But as we have already seen, for this inspection to be triggered automatically, some specific master data need to be previously updated, and besides that, we need to specify the type of test that must be done and all relevant related information.

Under this section, Quality Planning, we will see the different master data to consider for incorporating quality management to our logistics processes in SAP S/4 HANA.

As we also have been previously, quality management is close integrated with the rest of logistics processes. That is why, besides the quality master data, we must take into account that we will have to update master data in other areas.

In this way, we enumerate the main objects which we will neet to maintain for setting up the quality processes in SAP:

  • Material Master
  • Engineering Change Management
  • Vendors or Business Partners
  • Batch Master
  • Routings and Recipes
  • Work Centers and Resources
  • Production Resouce Tools
  • Document Management System (DMS)
  • Inspection Type
  • Basic data of Quality Planning and Inspection
  • Catalogs
  • Sampling procedures
  • Master Inspections Characteristics
  • Inspection Plans
  • Materials Specifications
  • Quality Info Records for Procurement and Sales
